Dinner Dance 2006

Link Leisure held its annual dinner and awards ceremony on Saturday at Camberley Heath Golf Club.

Cllr Keith Bush, Mayor of Surrey Heath, and Cllr John Kingsbury, the Mayor of Woking, both attended the dinner and they presented awards to Link Leisure members and supporters of the charity. In particular, last year’s Mayor of Woking, Cllr Ian Johnson, was thanked for his active fundraising for the charity during his mayoral year, when he named Link Leisure as his chosen charity. Cllr Bush also presented the charity with £1000 from his M.A.S.H. appeal (More Action in Surrey Heath).

Awards were presented to members of all ages for personal achievement and development over the last 12 months. The Volunteer of the Year Award went to Owen Lee for his long-standing commitment to many different groups and for all the time he devotes to the members. Marie Camplin, Office Manager, was happily surprised to received the Tim Bebb Award for her contribution to the charity.

The evening was a great success, with a raffle and tombola raising funds and our resident DJ, Dr. Fieldus, played a great mix of songs to please all the ages.
