Link Leisure is a registered charity which relies upon the support and donations of individuals and organisations.  We receive minimal local government and health funding.

We hold fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for the activities we do.  If you want to find out about how you can get involved please contact us. 

As a small charity Link Leisure has a Fundraising Committee which consists of one or two VOLUNTEER parents.  We are extremely grateful to these parents for all of their hard work and are desperately in need of more volunteers to support them in organising events.

These are just 2 of the events we have had in the past 12 months and we will have many to come in the following year. 

Project which currently require funding include:-

  • Choice Groups for Adults to enable them to access the community and enjoy a social life of their choice with the support they may need to do this.

  • Mayhem - Link Leisure's nightclub needs further funding to enable adults with learning disabilities to become more actively involved in running the nights.  This will include training more DJ's and training members in skills such as poster design.

  • A group for members with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities who need a very high degree of support to be able to take part in social and sporting activities.

  • A group for young people with mild learning difficulties / social difficulties who do not feel that they 'fit in' either in a mainstream setting, or with people with higher needs than themselves.

  • Training for members who are interested in taking sports to a higher level to enable them to compete to the best of their abilities in local games and working towards the next Special Olympics.

  • Transport - this is a big (and very expensive) problem for a lot of our members.

  • Drama, dance and arts projects for all ages.
