OUR PURPOSE

We support people with a learning disability to build an enhanced quality of life through sport and social activities in the community.

OUR VISION

We aim to empower members of all ages and abilities to make choices, develop independence and achieve their full potential.

About Link Leisure

'If there wasn't Link Leisure, what would we do?' - The voice of one of our members.

*  Link Leisure exists to support children and adults with learning disabilities to take part in community sports and leisure activities.

*  We are a well established charity covering the boroughs of Woking and Surrey Heath.

*  Our members develop confidence, self esteem and independence as well as improving their co-ordination and sporting abilities.

*  We are an associated member of the Special Olympics UK and athletes from Link Leisure have represented the charity at The Games.

*  We cater for people with a wide spectrum of learning disabilities from mild developmental delay, to severe autism.

*  We use community facilities wherever possible for our activities because we believe that people with learning disabilities should have the same opportunities as anyone else.

*  We train our staff and volunteers to deal with a wide range of disabilities.

*  Our staff and volunteers can also help members to develop friendships - something many people with learning disabilities find hard to do on their own.

*  Our activities permit parents/carers to have some respite while the person in their care is enjoying a Link Leisure organised sport or social activity.

*  We run a befriending scheme that helps new members to attend our groups.

For our members, having a learning disability can often be a barrier to joining in social and sporting activities.

Link Leisure is their Club!
